Arcade games built for two-minute breaks
Not every game needs to be a project. Sometimes you want something you can open, play for ninety seconds, and close without guilt. Reflex arcades are perfect for that, and I've been collecting the good ones.
Turbo Block Rush is my go-to. One tap to start, and you're immediately dodging collapsing corridors. There's no menu wall, no energy timer, no reason not to hit restart the second you crash.
What separates a good arcade game from a frustrating one is fairness. When you die, it should always feel like your mistake, never the game's. If you find yourself blaming lag or unfair spawns, it's not a keeper.
I like games with a short escalation, where the first ten seconds are easy and the panic ramps up naturally. It gives you a chance to warm up before things get serious, and it makes chasing a high score feel achievable.
Keep two or three of these installed and you'll never dread a queue again. They're the mobile equivalent of a good fidget toy.
